The Jewish Studies Program at Cornell University invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Associate in Jewish Studies, beginning July 1, 2024, with a specialization in modern Israel Studies. Discipline open. Knowledge of modern Hebrew is required, and knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable. Fellows are expected to teach two courses per year on topics within Israel studies, including one introductory-level course and one advanced seminar. The fellow will also be expected to conduct research, participate in the Jewish Studies program’s activities, and deliver a public lecture. Full consideration will be given to applications submitted by March 25. Applications will be considered until the position is filled. Candidates who do not have the Ph.D. in hand at the time of application must include a letter from the committee chair or department stating that the candidate will have completed all degree requirements before the start date of the postdoc position; the actual degree conferral date can be after the appointment start date.
